Staff Training: A Critical Link in Assuring Quality Care
The Ombudsman Program offers free in-service training for facility staff employed in nursing facilities, assisted housing programs including residential care and assisted living. These trainings run approximately 45 to 60 minutes and cover:
- Residents' Rights for Staff
- Residents' Rights for Residents
- Recognizing and Preventing Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of Residents
- Mandatory Reporting
Video Lending Library
In addition, facilities may borrow Ombudsman Program videos on the following topics:

Consumer Guides For Residents' Rights
The Ombudsman Program offers consumer guides for residents' rights in nursing facilities and assisted housing programs These guides are written especially for residents and their family members and are available upon request. There is a charge to facilities for these guides, please call us for details on how to order guides.
